In the Classroom . . .
- During one of your office hours, one of your students comes to see
you with a partially completed lab report. The student is unsure if he
is "on the right track" and asks you if his completed answers
are "correct." How would you get him to think for himself?
- You are TAing a third year class and you overhear some of your students
talking about the midterm exam they have just written for your course.
They are quite upset because the instructor put very applied questions
on the exam. When you ask them how they studied for the exam they say
they read over the notes the instructor put on reserve and tried to memorize
the definitions in most of text book's chapters they were responsible for.
How would you help them to be better prepared for the next midterm?
