The TA as Student

As your time at the University of Guelph goes by there will be multiple opportunities to become involved and to make various commitments whether in research, teaching, other employment, or volunteer opportunities. Remember that one of the main reasons you are here is to complete a degree in a 'reasonable' amount of time. Students can loose track of this long-term goal when TAing responsibilities seem overwhelming and job opportunities arise. If you start to have difficulty staying on track academically or if you feel overwhelmed by all of the responsibilities on your plate remember there are people you can talk to:

  • Your advisor or provisional advisor.
  • The graduate coordinator in your department.
  • Your fellow graduate students or TAs.
  • Counselling Services, 3rd floor UC or Ext. 53244.
