Graduate Student University Teaching ConferenceMany graduate students will actively contribute to the university’s teaching and learning community as a teaching assistant, and those seeking a career in academe are increasingly interested in strengthening their prospects by enhancing their pedagogical knowledge and skills during their graduate studies. Each fall semester, TSS hosts an annual conference for graduate students with an interest in university teaching. The event provides participants with opportunities to develop their teaching skills, connect with their peers, meet experienced faculty members, and discuss various teaching and learning strategies, theories, and philosophies. This interdisciplinary event provides an extraordinary opportunity for graduate students to develop confidence and competence in their approach to teaching in higher education, and to interact with colleagues from all departments to share their experiences and to build a positive peer network.
